It’s been long since I’ve blogged anything animu and manga, but since my adviser allowed me to submit my thesis revision not immediately, I can spare a few minutes ranting. Yey!:)
So here’s my animu and manga life so far: I’m only following three anime shows this season, and I’m not watching anything old either. God knows how much guilt and paranoia will be on my shoulders if I dare watch an hour of anime more than I should. I’m watching:
Well… Gintama’s Gintama. I just can’t drop this show even though I know they love trolling their viewers. Has anyone seen the Mimawarigumi Arc? I couldn’t care less about the doe-eyed rapper, but OKITA’S SO BADASS. However, I really don’t like him fighting other girls when he’s already got Kagura. Tsk! I haven’t seen that pairing in action for agesssss. I hope this arc is continued with an arc where the three fight. The assassin’s not so bad, but still, OkitaxKagura OTP forevars~
Mirai Nikki’s exciting, yes, but the plot’s gone so awry at times that I keep forgetting that this happened and that happened. I sinfully admit that I like it best when Yuno’s on psycho mode. Somehow, there are unexplainable plot holes that keeps leaving me hanging. Akise’s absence is equally exasperating.
Now, the Daily Lives if High School Boys (Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou) is like Gintama. Aside from casting the same seiyuus (some), their humor are identical. It’s either a hit or miss in the humor, and usually, I fall for it. I don’t even know why. My favorite part is the Literary Girl series. It gets to me every single fucking time. Plus Hidenori’s there, my peborit!♥
I’m not that disciplined when it comes to manga though. Every time I have the chance to go online, I go to MangaFox and check their update list, so technically I never miss new chapters of the manga I follow. Current favorites are Oresama Teacher and The World God Only Knows. You have no idea how my face lights up whenever I see these titles on the update list. Especially Oresama Teacher.
Anyway, I’ve stopped lessened picking up random manga I see along the way. Here’s what I am reading tonight though:
ITOU JUNJI KYOUFU MANGA COLLECTION
Ermingard the pleasure. The horror!♥ I don’t even know why I still continue reading this stuff in the middle of the night. It was painful to stop reading, but the idea that this image might somehow get into my dreams made me stop last night:

When I saw this, I was like what the effing fucking fuck is that? Then I did this silent but desperate motion of wanting to puke but can’t. How does Itou Junji think of such things?!
Umm. I’m to busy reading the next chapters to edit this post and to think of a proper ending. Sorry guys. Goodnight!:”> Here’s an equally scary picture.

I like that belt.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn AMV (my sister’s) and Review (mine)
Song: Easy Go by Kazuki Kato
Just being a proud sister and sharing my sister’s AMV of Katekyo Hitman Reborn!:) It must be my unsaid duty since I also shared her Durarara!! and Gintama (Yoshiwara Arc) AMVs before. Actually, I’m a bit jealous since she has the time, patience and skills to make AMVs while I have none, no matter how much I love animu. As you may notice, I also haven’t made my promise Katekyo Hitman Reborn! review yet. It’s quite problematic to make a single review on a 203-episode anime so I was stalling a lot. But I guess I’ll have a go now:
Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is an addicting and great watch, as it is not like its shounen animu friends where all we see is fighting. Sure, there are tons of fighting scenes but in some way or another, the creators have managed to squeeze in some scenes (or episodes) where we could see character development vital in the story. Heed this warning though: you must have strong determination to be able to stomach the first 17 episodes of the series and all the fillers. The fillers aren’t as long as Naruto thankfully, but sometimes the momentum is broken and you wonder: “why on earth are they playing around when they’re supposed to be training desperately since their time is limited?!” But the agony of watching these spoilers is nothing to the agony of watching the first 17 episodes. So I suggest that you skip the 17 episodes, ask someone to tell you who the hell the characters are while watching, then voila: you see action immediately! You now know that the story really is leading somewhere, so you may watch the first 17 episodes after finishing some of the arcs (I watched them after watching episode 203 >:D).
Continuity in terms of strength levels is properly executed in this series, since after beating an opponent, their next opponent is clearly stronger than the last. I made it a point to mention this since this is what stopped me from finishing Bleach. Case in point:
Ichigo defeating powerful opponents then gets shamelessly being beat up by weaker opponents. Case in point in the case in point: the Bounto Arc. Seriously, who gets beat up by a guy who controls snakes after beating some shinigami captains?! Annoying!
I haven’t read the manga yet since duty calls, so I don’t know if this is still true for the manga. Another thing I admire in this series is that the fights never take longer than they should. Approximately only two episodes are needed for a single fight so the battle is never unnecessarily extended due to ridiculous power ups and unexplainable regenerating skills—and some characters can even rightfully regenerate. Also, the protagonists suffer losses more than usual in anime, so you really can’t predict the outcome of fights. All in all, a good anime! I should have jumped in the bandwagon and fanbase earlier.
However, it must be unintended, but women are depicted rather lowly in this anime. Haru and Kyoko are only useful when they cook and clean (when they decided to take things into action, they usually just cause trouble —> they also annoy me at times), and the only strong girl up to date is Lal Mirch, who wins in a battle but is then rendered useless at half of the entire Future ordeal. Chrome is too emotional, and is only strong at the beginning of the series. I heard she has trained well before the final Future Arc battle but we don’t really have proof. Damn she’s lucky she has Mukuro. I wish I had my own Mukuro too.
My favorite characters are Lambo and Fran. My third runner-up is Belphegor. I actually do not support the guyxguy pairings in KHR, and my OTP is HaruxTsuna. Scratch Kyoko, I hate her. I also wager that Ryohei’s future girlfriend is Hana, not Haru, which is who my sister says is. Speaking of Ryohei, has anyone noticed that Ryohei is treated as a side character? She’s always referred to as “Kyoko’s oniisan.” (=__= )
Overall, I’d recommend it. The bishounens are a-plenty and Tsuna’s Operation X faantastic~ And Mini Mosca’s a cutie pie (made me creys) and Squalo’s so noisyyy~
Hey, have you ever watched a battle where the two fighters are seated in chairs the entire fight?
In fucking, glorious 16:9 guys. 16:9.

Notice the apostrophe after the word Gintama. It really is supposed to be there, differentiating it from the earlier series. I learned that from euphoricskies!:D (Gintama fans should totally follow him.)
First things first: The opening and ending songs. They were like those that preceded them—brilliant. Take that from a person that almost downloaded all of their songs. Anyway, I may be biased, but Gintama’s songs are way better than the likes of… let’s say… the OP of Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko. Just sayin’. The opening is still has the Vespa-cruising trademark. It’s nice to know that this is it, Gintama’s back for real, with more in store for us. Just loved how the OP’s chorus matched with the Shiroyasha scene, it gave me the chills.

More of these flashbacks on the show, please. And more serious arcs, please. I’m really looking forward to some serious action and drama.(=w= ) Not that I don’t love the irrelevant to the plot episodes, but when we’re above 200 episodes, surely something intense is coming for us, right?;)
Gintama Episodes 202-203
I have no idea what this two-episode arc is called, so I hereby dub this arc the Wart Arc. It is so like Gintama to use such gross concepts for a whole arc. Reminds me of this entire episode where the characters were trying to figure out how to literally wipe their ass. God, I love this show.(*u* )
Not going to give a blow-by-blow account of the episode, just the major emotion-sucking moments, k? Episode 202 reintroduces Shinpachi, who haven’t changed at all. But OH LOOK WHO’S CHANGED.

This will be the inspiration for many fan arts and cosplay ideas, believe me.
And look who’s leveled up in their abilities.

And there stands Shinpachi, literally and figuratively below them. Hehe. Anyway, to speed things up in this review, Shinpachi finds that everyone has changed.

The animators did great.(*o* ) Every single revelation of his change of character nearly killed me. If I were to pick the best evolution, I’d say Hijikata’s the most insane. Srsly? he just transformed into the meek forever-closed eyed character?! I almost fell down from where I’m sitting. Tho, Jerkaiser has a good spot in my heart, it is just like Okita to build an empire worthy of Lelouch. It’s just the first arc and we’ve already seen parodies of Code Geass, Dragonball Z and Rorouni Kenshin!
I don’t really want to ask this, but WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!

Really? What is it?
This ends my review. I extract my statement that I will blog on every single arc out there, since it looks like time will not permit me to do so. And what else is there to say but the creators of this show must be on drugs?
In this hour of solemnity, I quote Zurako:
She’s just a newborn so her banana’s not peeled yet.
Whatever that’s supposed to mean.
EDIT: Toushi told me what it is. *faints*
