Hello all.o/
I’m finding it hard to decide what to do with my time. SO MUCH FREE TIME~ I really can’t help but be smug about it.(=w= ) I really wish that from now on, time is this available.
Anyway, I’m way behind my manga list. The chapters above are those which I have yet to read. I have already downloaded some of them, but I haven’t really gotten around to reading them since I’ve been having these jealousy spurts over Facebook on pretty people. Instead of getting down to business (and defeat the Huns), I view their profile pics and wonder how on earth did they get that gorjus or chic. *sigh*
While I was doing detective work, I downloaded the Kimi ni Todoke live action movie. If you want a link, just tell me.:) The file is small and hard-subbed. Maybe after I finish watching the film, I’ll finally feel the drive to read the next manga chapters!:D I’ve been avoiding reading them lately since lovey dovey stuff make me sick.
…
I want to rewatch some anime (Durarara!! and Toradora!); or watch other series that have been sitting and staring at my nose for months already (Baccano!, Panty and Stocking, Psychic Detective Yakumo); or watch those series left unfinished, silently fuming at me for ignoring their existence (Beelzebub and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni). I want to read the manga chapters above, but some of them took too long to update thus I need to reread previous chapters so I that I could understand the plot again, but it’s just too… bothersome. I want to watch some American movies by simply picking from my dad’s pile of DVDs, but I want food to go with it. I want to go to SM right at this very instant since my friend offered to treat me to Starbucks, but I read his text message too late. I want to sleep.
I wish my problems were always this easy and irrelevant.
I have no idea if my semester is already finished since I still don’t know if I’m exempted in my final examinations, but I’d take the liberty to pretend that I already am. Based on my experience, playing pretend turns to reality. And that alcohol is an excellent Veritaserum. (Now where did that come from?)
My brain has been offline ever since last semester started. This is a very random post, I know. My serious and relevant blog posts have been moved elsewhere. I want to party. I’ll make sure I get to party next week, on the dance floo-flooh-floor. I has chiz icecream right nao.:p
I almost forgot to make a post about this!D: I just remembered because I was going to edit a picture in Photoshop, thus noticing the folder where I stored my drafts. I was one of the tasked to make a T-shirt design for a fundraising activity in our organization. The shirt’s target consumers are U.P. students, so being the forever child I am, I decided to make it based on the movie UP. Here’s the basic design:

The balloon colors were different in my first draft which kind of reeked of magenta:

I made it more colorful in order to be, let’s say… more faithful to the movie UP. I deemed it safe to post it here in Tumblr since my design was rejected. It wasn’t really harshly rejected, because even I was against this design. Let’s say you’re a guy. You won’t buy it, right? I know that this design won’t be feasible for sale (adding in the expenses of having that many colors to print) yet I still finished it. Oh, the chibi guy isn’t initially supposed to be there, it was supposed to be the Oblation, but it sucks, tbh. So I just drew this guy who looked like Pucca. WAHAHAHA. However, even tho it’s not going to be up for sale, which is good since it looks like Disney and Pixar don’t need to sue me, what do you think of the concept and design?:)
Crazy Little Thing called Love (aka First Love) Movie Review
(SPOILER-FREE)
I’m sorry that it took me forever to write this, it was just that my reverie took forever. The video above is the movie’s trailer, and there is a large probability that if you watch it, you’ll be inclined to watch the movie SOON. I tried it on my friends, and they did watch it a few minutes after watching the trailer.:”> It claims that 89% of the people who watched the trailer have been through the symptoms of what we commonly know as “first love.” (That wasn’t verbatim, but you get the drift.) What encouraged me to watch it is maybe that statistical value, maybe the fact that the lead guy can make panties fly, or maybe the fact that I can see myself in the lead girl.
Our heroine in the story, called Nam, is quite the ugly duckling. It reminded me of my elementary and high school days. Haha. Oh the circular ancient glasses, it was so me! The messy hair, the gawky clothes, the brown complexion, me, me, me!(>__< ) Having a group of loyal friends whom you could rely on in times of daydreaming, scheming and mischief. Then having a crush on the coolest guy on the planet, a person who shall never look upon an inferior mortal (such as me), aaaagh. Do you feel it? Do you feel how much this movie had made me feel as if it was also partly based on my story? Of course you won’t. You’d probably think this movie was based on you, not me.
That is exactly what I loved about this Thai movie. It has the power to make you remember your own experiences such as the feelings associated with having your crushes during your youthful days. But you see, it’s not a movie that only centers on love—it centers on family and friend issues in such a balanced way that nothing is exaggerated, as if your peering at your own life via another person’s story. Humor is pretty prevalent in the story too, so it was a really enjoyable watch. The sweetness too—HNNNNG.
I’m trying not to say any spoilers since I’m keen on encouraging you to watch it, so I’m replacing this post’s title to:
Crazy Little Thing called Love (aka First Love) Movie Review Encouragement Post
If this was a review this would have gone on forever. Which is such a shame since I wanted to fangirl about it, but never mind. It’s my certified favorite movie nao. I’ll download it once there are proper subs out.
Maybe it has something to do with me getting taller, as Allen’s FB status said.
Maybe it has something to do with me getting used to the Christmas bustle.
Maybe it has something to do with me getting reluctant to eat too much.
Maybe it has something to do with me getting used to the giant Christmas tree and extravagant belen within the campus that other decorations just seemed listless, duller, lifeless. Christmas lights seem less colorful, or is it that people are turning them on less? Are other people feeling the Christmas hype less too?
Maybe it has something to do with me getting used to staying up late, which was something sort of a novelty when I was a kid. Staying awake until midnight was a struggle back then, and our whole family would just tune in to a single movie, like Cast Away (Tom Hanks) and some Indiana Jones movies. My earliest memory of staying up late on Christmas eve was us watching the Princess Sarah movie (“Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa”) starred by Camille Prats through Betamax. Even then, I hated Sarah’s persona. People who have that personality exist? I think not. I scoffed at the dance number at the end. To be able to make peace with your enemies just with a dance number? Preposterous. Now that I think about it, maybe that movie actually teaches what people should remember especially on Christmas, but what’s annoying is annoying. K.
Maybe it has something to do with me getting all ultra- hyper- superduper- dramatic lately. Maybe.
But, more than ever, I am happy that I have spent majority of my Christmas eves with my family, and we have this little gift exchange once the clock strikes 12MN. I’m excited for that event, ohyes. I hope they’ll like what I’ll give them.:”>
So, an advanced Merry Christmas to all of you!♥ May you all have a special one and may you remember whose birthday we are celebrating! If you don’t have Christmas, then Happy Holidays!:”>
Perfect Blue is yet another mind-boggling masterpiece from known director Satoshi Kon. That’s what I say, but Paprika (2006) is the only other work from him that I have watched, so it’s legal to not believe me. Yet, watching these two films provides one with a sense of confusion that is actually consistent with how the human mind works: unpredictable and incomprehensible.

The biggest regret I have from watching this film is reading complete reviews about it beforehand, which means I know what will happen in the end. If you are wise, do not read the paragraphs under the Spoiler Alert label. You have been warned—you won’t be able to fully experience the twists and turns the movie can provide.:| For the summary of the story, go watch the trailer HERE.:] I agree with one of the comments though, the trailer does not do justice to the movie.
Excuse me, who are you?
Excuse me, who are you?
Excuse me, who are you?
The trailer is English dubbed but I watched it subbed. TMI, lol.
For one, the trailer is kind of misguiding: it focused on her privacy, or lack of privacy for that matter. However, the movie will center on how Mima has lost her identity, not knowing which is the real her and not being capable of differentiating dreams from reality. The movie also shows the reality of how show business really is. A showbiz figure which has her innocence as her selling point suddenly changes her image drastically to the darker (and pervier) side. Everyone knows at least one actress. That is exactly what happened to Mima, but the change was so sudden that her former idol self and her current self are in a conflict. Raep scene? Anyone? Add in a freaky stalker and a website which is supposedly written by her, and everything’s a mess. Oh, add the murders. Everything’s a sticky, bloody mess.

Some formal review stuff:
- Animation: Is of high class. There are no choppy movements and everything is fluid-like for a movie which is done eons ago.=P (Some people say that they like old anime series than new ones though :D) Of course, I might have been just too absorbed in the movie to notice, but my only complaint is the shape of her pubic hair. Oh! I almost forgot to say that the movie isn’t wholesome and you might want to watch it when no one else is around. It isn’t really that pervy, and the nudity is essential to the feel of the story and the story itself, but you know. Parents.(>___>)
- Music: Eh? I don’t remember much except Mima’s song. Hehe. /fails as a reviewer
- Story: 5 stars!
- Characters and character design: I keep on forgetting who the photographer is since his design is so-so, but everyone else is unique. There’s something wrong with Mima’s manager’s eyes which is intentional and well done, while Me-Mania (the stalker) is just outright ugly.(which adds to his freaky factor!)
I think I understood this movie better than Paprika tho.=P Do not read what I wrote below this line because they are spoilers. One would initially think that there are two crazy people in the story, Me-Mania ad Mima, but the ending would beg to differ. However, one would know that Rumi would not be able to accomplish her schemes if Mima wasn’t already delusional. Mima started having these weird illusions when they shot that rape scene, which just had to be taken a few times, mygehd. Even if it was just a shooting, a “fake scenario,” shock would still settle in. One could not exactly say that Mima is truly conservative though, since she even allowed the photographer to take nude and seductive photos of her, which is what her idol persona completely raged at.
Uggh. What a soupy review.(=3=) This movie is just to deep for me to write a proper review for. Just watch it.
